Our 2nd Women of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Conference
was held Saturday, September 14, 2024!
Our co-sponsor this year was
12th Octave Studios
of Greensburg, PA.

The conference was held at:
Kearns Spirituality Center
9000 Babcock Boulevard
Pittsburgh (Allison Park), PA 15101

Our theme this year was, "Better", based upon
the scripture reference of Luke 10:42 (NRSV),
"Mary has chosen the better part, which
will not be taken away from her."

Our excellent speakers included -
Chaplain (Captain) Christie Torres

Chaplain Captain Christie Torres - serves as an Army Chaplain. Her awards have included the National
Defense Service Medal, the Army Superior Unit Award, and at least several others.

- Her deployments have included, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Multi-National Force-Iraq (2008-2009), and Operation Atlantic Resolve, US European Command (2018-2019)

- She is ordained with the Assemblies of God

Dr. Greta Stokes Tucker, PhD

Dr. Greta Stokes Tucker, PhD - As Director of the former Office of Black Catholic Ministries with the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Dr. Stokes was involved with the African, Korean, African American, Latino and Vietnamese Catholic communities

- She has served in numerous capacities at Pittsburgh's historic St. Benedict the Moor Parish

- In more recent years, she has become an adjunct instructor for the Catholic Studies department at Duquesne University

And the 2024 Keynote Speaker was...

Lisa Burkhardt Worley - Spent close to 20 years as a
professional television sports anchor and reporter

- In addition to being an author, she has become an award-winning documentary filmmaker, producing films aimed at fighting antisemitism, such as, Terror in Toulouse: Has the Community Recovered?

- She is the founder of Pearls of Promise Ministries, through which she has established her POP Talk podcasts and broadcasts

Our morning worship was led by Sharon Bratton, Founder of
12th Octave music studios in Greensburg, PA and Worship Director
for Murrysville Alliance Church.
She returned this year, assisted by three of her students -
who were a blessing to us again!
