PA WOMEN OF CHAPLAINCY AND PASTORAL CARE
Mission Statement: PA Women of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care is a networking ministry that exists to encourage and affirm women who are called to these vocations and similar areas of ministry.
Participants will uphold to:
Respect those of differing religious or spiritual beliefs and refrain from any insulting, demeaning or critical remarks that might offend those of another religious faith or practice. And likewise, refrain from the promotion of any political party and/or agendas.
Inform of any trends, changes or best practices taking place in the field of chaplaincy or pastoral care that could benefit group participants.
The foundational elements of PA Women of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care are:
Encourage. This will not only occur through regular (usually monthly) online meetings but through website postings of inspirational messages, quotes and/or articles. Occasional in-person meet-ups may also be offered. An online meeting usually will not be held during months when there are in-person gatherings.
Enrich. Through the exchange of information and ideas, growth and enrichment (on some level) will likely occur.
Educate. Chaplains will be notified of webinars and/or trainings in relation to spiritual care, chaplaincy and bereavement. While no one will be required to attend anything presented, participants will certainly be encouraged to do so.
The PA Women of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care may also create possibilities for mentorship opportunities. However, such arrangements would be worked out and agreed upon between the individuals involved. The group facilitator and/or co-facilitators will not be responsible for, or take a primary role in, such arrangements.
PA Women of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care will seek to provide a welcoming and supportive environment to all women who have been called to the ministry of chaplaincy and/or related pastoral care, including those who may provide bereavement care (i.e. Bereavement or Grief Counselors, Bereavement Coordinators, etc.).
Lastly, but of utmost importance, confidentiality is to be practiced among all group participants. If participants are to feel they can speak freely, there must be a sense that what is shared among the PA Women of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care group members, will remain within the group (unless otherwise noted).
